The Lewisboro Police Department has a MedReturn Drug Collection box at its headquarters in South Salem so that prescription drugs, over-the-counter drugs and pet medications may be disposed of safely and securely.
The disposal unit provides a safe way to dispose of drugs so that these toxic substances will not be thrown away in a manner that contaminates the environment, especially the streams and waterways of the county.
Items that are not accepted in the box include aerosol cans, liquids or lotions, needles, thermometers, and medications from businesses or clinics.
